Dana G. Stilley
District 17 Legislator
Dana Stilley, PhD, was elected to the Rockland County Legislature in November 2023, and was sworn into office in January 2024.
A lifelong Rockland County resident, she attended South Orangetown schools from kindergarten through graduation. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Applied Mathematics from Brown University, a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Management Science from Columbia Business School and a Doctor of Philosophy in Community College Leadership from Old Dominion University.
Dr. Stilley possesses years of experience in the financial industry, higher education administration and teaching. A servant leader, she is committed to advocating for others. Throughout her lifetime she has volunteered with several non-profit organizations in the county. Currently, Dr. Stilley is President of the Rockland Negro Scholarship Fund, Inc. Board of Directors and a board member for Meals on Wheels of Rockland County and Venture Together. She is a proud member of the Rockland County Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and she serves on the sororities Eastern Region Leadership Team. Dr. Stilley is completing her first term on the South Orangetown Central School District Board of Education, having previously served as the president of the board.
Dana has been appointed to serve as the Chair of the Government Operations Committee and Vice Chair of the Minority & Women Business Enterprise (MWBE) Committee. She is also a member of the Budget & Finance and Public Safety committees.
Dana resides in Orangetown with her husband and son, who is a junior in college.
