Statement From The Rockland County Legislature On The
Antisemitic Shootings In Washington, D.C.

“We are outraged and heartbroken by the horrific antisemitic murders of two young Israeli Embassy staffers who were clearly targeted and brutally killed by a suspect who was hunting for Jews. The self-confessed killer allegedly said he acted to ‘free Palestine.’  

“Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim were outside the Capital Jewish Museum after a discussion about ways to get food and other aid to war-torn regions such as Gaza. They were looking forward to their future together, with hopes of engagement and marriage. Their families and friends are now grieving a shocking and senseless loss and our sincerest condolences go out to them.  

“Yaron and Sarah were working to improve the world, not tear it down further. We must stand together against hatred and violence even as we uplift Yaron and Sarah as examples of hope and positive change.
