Winter Coat & Warm Clothing Drive For Kids & Adults Launches
Legislator Paul & Together Our Unity Can Heal Partner For 2024 Effort
Rockland County Legislature Vice Chair Dr. Aney Paul and Together Our Unity Can Heal have partnered for the third consecutive year to conduct a winter coat and warm clothing drive for children and adults.
“Through no fault of their own, many of our neighbors find themselves unable to afford to buy a warm coat or winter clothing,” Legislator Paul said. “This effort is an opportunity for all of us to come together to show our struggling neighbors that we care about them and that they are not alone.”
Coats and warm clothing for children and adults are being accepted until Dec. 2. New items are preferred but very-gently-used coats and clothing will be accepted. Drop off donations between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays at the Legislature’s Office in the Allison-Parris County Office Building, 11 New Hempstead Road in New City. Please call (845) 638-5100 for additional information or assistance.
TOUCH (Together Our Unity Can Heal) is a community-based public health organization that provides compassionate and effective services to our neighbors in the Hudson Valley. TOUCH has been a Ryan White AIDS Service Organization for more than 30 years. The organization’s work leads to healthier individuals and stronger communities.
With the exception of 2020, Legislator Paul has sponsored a Winter Coat Drive annually since 2015, partnering with local social services agencies assisting Rockland County residents, including Catholic Charities Community Services of Rockland, Helping Hands of Rockland, People to People and the Center for Safety & Change. In 2020, Legislator Paul sponsored a food drive to benefit victims of the pandemic, including families left without resources due to the shutdowns.
“I ask everyone to please donate whatever you and to know that your donation will be warmly welcomed and greatly appreciated,” Legislator Paul said.
