Legislature Leads Grant Info Sessions for Nonprofits 

224 Grants Help Nonprofit & Volunteer Organizations That Enrich Our Lives In Rockland County

New City, NY (April 19, 2024) –  The Rockland County Legislature held two information sessions for the 50 nonprofit organizations that receive funding through the 224 Grant Program.

An overview of how to electronically submit applications for the grants was offered, as well as information on how to electronically submit any backup materials.

The program was led by Legislative Legal Counsel Elana Yeger, Legislative Operations Coordinator Robin Brooks, Confidential Assistant to the Chair Chaya Szwerin, and ITS Division’s Systems Development Administrator Justin Jeffs.

The ongoing goal of these efforts is to streamline the process of applying, not only on the County government side, but for the nonprofit and volunteer organizations that so enrich our lives in Rockland County.

The 224 grants are awarded to various organizations, including well over a dozen veterans’ groups to assist with patriotic observances; nonprofits working to preserve and celebrate our history; organizations dedicated to youth; multiple cultural organizations providing local enrichment presentations and programs; and nonprofits whose work makes a tremendous difference in the lives of those who are visually impaired, those who benefit from educational enrichment programs, and those in need of legal assistance.
