Rockland County Legislature Shines A Light On Parkinson's Awareness

Rockland County Legislature Vice Chair Dr. Aney Paul proudly joined Parkinsons Wellness Project NY Executive Director Susan Lust to shine a bright spotlight on Parkinson’s Awareness at the Health & Wellness Committee meeting.

Joined by County Legislators Beth Davidson, Dana Stilley, Jay Hood, Lon Hofstein, Joel Friedman and Toney Earl, Legislator Paul presented Susan with a Proclamation recognizing Parkinson’s Awareness Month and reaffirming Rockland’s commitment to awareness, compassion, and hope. Legislator Paul chairs the Health & Wellness Committee.

Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological disease that impacts nearly 1 million people across the U.S., affecting movement, balance, and overall quality of life. While there is no cure yet, organizations like PWP are making a meaningful difference every day.

PWP is dedicated to helping people with Parkinson’s live their best lives - and even created the public Garden of Hope at Boulder Stadium, where hundreds of tulips bloom each spring. The tulip, the global symbol of the Parkinson’s community, reminds us that our “two-lips” can uplift, encourage, and speak hope to those living with PD.
