A Thanksgiving Message From Rockland County Legislature Chairman Jay Hood Jr.

“As we gather with loved ones to celebrate Thanksgiving, I want to extend my heartfelt wishes for a joyful and peaceful holiday. This season reminds us to pause and appreciate the many bounties in our lives — from the food on our tables to the care, compassion, and love we share with family, friends, and neighbors.

"I also recognize that this year has brought challenges for many in our community. Some are searching for steady work, and others have felt the strain of losing - and thankfully regaining - vital nutritional assistance that helps put meals on the table. Please know that your strength, resilience, and commitment to one another inspire me every day.

"As we look ahead, may we continue to support those facing hardships and take every opportunity to lift each other up. I am grateful for the privilege of serving this community and for the spirit of kindness and generosity that defines it – as we clearly see as neighbors remain busy donating food, Thanksgiving dinners, clothing and toys to make the holiday season brighter for our neighbors in need.
